Adobe

Trying to obtain an ebook about WCF this evening… Nearing the end of the ordering process, the site prompted me that I would probably need Adobe’s new Digital Editions product to read the book. Annoyed that I needed yet another application I went on to google for it and installed the damn thing.

Wow.

It rocks! First, the interface is black so it’s cool. Second, when I started it up it automatically imported all PDF’s I read with Acrobat Reader into the library and presents them in a very cool thumbnail like overview which somehow impressed me somewhat. It also has a lot of other cool animation effects which are getting more prominent these days.

This seems like one of the first applications built on Adobe’s Flex technology that will really hit the masses and I’m somewhat amazed that there isn’t more buzz about this thing. I will definitely not be using Acrobat Reader anymore and I recommend everyone who has to read through PDF files to try it out.
